Sunday School Classes

Classes for children & youth are held from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Sunday morning. There are three main classes:

Class I (grades K-3) meets on the first floor in a Spanish Academy classroom near the Westminster Room.

Class 2 (grades 4-6) meets in the Youth Room on the second floor across from the Handbell Room.

Class 3 (grades 7-8) meets in the parlor in the back of the sanctuary. This is our Confirmation Class.

Nursery & Childcare

Our nursery is available on Sunday mornings during Sunday School and worship.

The nursery is located across from the Youth Room on the 2nd floor. Children ages 4 and above are invited to attend one of our Children’s Sunday School classes from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.

During worship, children in grade 2 and below may go to childcare after A Word About Worship. Childcare volunteers will lead children to the childcare room.

Middle & High School Youth Ministry

Our youth group for middle and high school gathers from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall on Sundays following worship.

Covenant Youth Group (CYG) is a welcoming place for middle and high school youth to come together on Sundays following worship from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. for fellowship, fun, and service. All ages from 6th to 12th grade are welcome.

Every Sunday our youth start by sharing a meal together. Then we will usually play a few games. On days that we are not traveling to play mini golf, make pottery, or share meals with people experiencing homelessness in Atlanta, we will have a Bible study that draws connections to what’s going on in the world today.

What is Confirmation Class?

Our Confirmation Class is offered to youth in 7th grade and above. Confirmation is the affirmation of the work of the Holy Spirit that calls us to community. It is a journey of faith that starts with an individual commitment and continues to shape us as we seek to live into our baptisms as a part of the Body of Christ.

Confirmation is an experience, rather than an event, that affirms the act of baptism. Confirmation involves a time of self-reflection within a community, guided study, and giving voice to our faith. The confirmation experience should celebrate life in the Spirit as part of one’s continuing faith journey.

Our goal is not for the confirmands to just join the church but to be able to articulate their faith at this particular time and place and to live into the claim of their baptism.
